(Acts 2:41-47 KJV) (41)Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. (42) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (43) And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. (44) And all that believed were together, and had all things common; (45) And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. (46) And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,(47) Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Praise the Lord. Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
I feel an urgency from the Lord in my spirit to give voice to a silent movement that is growing in the hearts and minds of those who seek to be true followers, disciples and believers of Jesus Christ.
I am speaking to those whose spirit the Holy Ghost has also grieved as we see the dilapidated and fallen condition of what I will henceforth refer to as the “Organized Church” (2 Thess. 2:1-4)(1 Tim. 4:1-7). I’m speaking to those who feel lost in the hypocrisy and the never ending messages and teachings regarding the pursuit of money, prosperity and favor being espoused by so many Organized Churches today (1 Tim. 3:2-3)(1 Tim. 3:8)(Tit. 1:7)(1 Tim. 6:6-10) . I’m speaking to those who have tried and tested these messages and teachings and have found that they don’t fill the emptiness or overcome the depression and loneliness that so many feel that drew them to seek help there in the first place.
I’m speaking to those that yearn for the New Testament Church as presented in the Holy Scriptures (Acts 2:41-47). I’ve speaking to those that yearn for the sincerity, simplicity, purity and holiness that God expects and desires and the Holy Scriptures demands from those who would profess salvation in Jesus Christ (1 Tim 1:5). I’m speaking to those that yearn to be filled with the Love of God and to share and feel that same love with mankind (Matt. 22:36-40).
WHAT THE MOVEMENT IS NOT
First, please permit me to define what this New Testament Church Movement is NOT. It is not an organization. It has no human leader. It does not require a headquarters, buildings or any other support. It does not center on an individual. It does not have a physical location or address. It is not a business. It is not a denomination. It does not require marches, protests and demonstrations on behalf of its members. It does not seek to have status in this world.
WHAT THE MOVEMENT IS
The “New Testament Church Movement” is a name given to me by the Holy Spirit to describe this effort he is doing in these latter days. It came to me on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 as I was concluding my preparation for teaching my first leadership conference on “Four Foundational Truths of Ministry”.
This movement is one I believe is being ushered in by the Holy Ghost as he speaks to the hearts and minds of individual believers urging them to draw nigh to God. This movement is about the remnant of mankind who will choose to follow Jesus Christ in these last and evil days and they will not succumb to the ways of this world which is even overtaking the Organized Church. This movement is about individual believers who are answering the call to Love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength and to follow God through the knowledge of the Holy Scriptures and the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is an internal movement of the hearts of believers who make up the living body of Jesus Christ, his beloved bride, his church (1 Cor. 12)(2 Cor. 11:1-4)(Eph. 5:21-31)(Rev 21:1-9)
HOW THIS BLOG CAME TO BE
The Lord recently revealed to me what I’ve termed “Four Foundational Truths of Ministry” around which to develop instructional courses and teachings for individuals, ministers and ministries. This revelation is the culmination of over 48 years of studying, seeking God and praying for guidance and purpose regarding his Church and my purpose in life.
These materials will be intensively focused on the Holy Scriptures and its goal is to provide scriptures that instruct on the original purpose and design of the New Testament Church. Our purpose here is to share wisdom and teachings to assist individuals in their efforts to grow into the image of Christ and find the fulfillment and purpose that they have been seeking (Eph. 4:11-16).
It was just a few nights before I taught the first course as I was standing at my kitchen counter that the Lord spoke to my heart by the Holy Spirit and gave me the words “New Testament Church Movement.” Being a webmaster, I immediately returned to my computer to research the internet to see if this term was broadly used and on the availability of that domain name. To my sheer surprise but not amazement, I could not find the term in use anywhere in my searches. Soon afterwards I purchased the domain names of NTChurchMovement.com and NTChurchMovement.org. Now I am completing the vision the Lord gave me by creating this BLOG to serve as a voice and training resources for those who feel his leading and are seeking scriptural guidance.
PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG
Over the course of time, we propose to utilize this BLOG as a communication’s medium to provide studies, training materials, audio and video lessons and other tools to assist individuals in their growth efforts (1 Pet. 2:1-4). Our focus is not on teaching individuals what to believe because the scriptures teaches that the Holy Ghost is our teacher and He will lead each believer into all truth (John 14:26)(1 John 2:26-29). Our focus is on being a teacher providing instructions which one can study so believers can allow the Holy Spirit to bring them into maturity in Jesus Christ without the fear of being misled or seduced (Eph. 4:11-16)(2 Pet. 1:5-12).
HOW TO JOIN THE MOVEMENT
The key prerequisite for joining this movement is to first become a born again believer of Jesus Christ in your heart if you have not already done so (John 3)(Rom. 10:8-13). Also, this movement is about awaking the hearts of disciples of Jesus Christ who have fallen into the mold of simply “Going to Church” or being a “local church member” so they can stop neglecting to read the word or keep the Lord’s commandments (John 14:15)(John 15:10).
It is time for believers to stop simply “Going to Church”. It is time for believers to start “Being the Church” in their hearts. I believe this urgency is increasing in intensity as the hearts of mankind grow wiser and wickeder (Gen. 6:5-7)(1 Cor. 12)(1 Cor. 6:15-20)(2 Cor. 2:14-18).
God wants each of his believers to be the Church, his church, and to start flourishing where they live and work so others might see the Light of Jesus Christ shining through them and seek to be saved so they too can experience the fullness of life that is available through Jesus Christ (John 10:10).
Please join this movement and this BLOG will be here to provide you support and most of all you will know that you are NOT ALONE on this journey.
